DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations in excess of 6 inches is possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph Saturday. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 7 PM CDT this evening. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Friday afternoon through late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
